Librium is made up of generic Chlordiazepoxide that is used as an anti-anxiety drug. It reduces the anxiety concern.
This medicine helps you to get relief from moderate, mild, or severe anxiety. Librium when couples up with GABAA receptor site in the central nervous system causes the increase in the affinity of neurochemical towards the GABAA receptor. It elevates the GABA-mediated chloride influx bringing about membrane hyper polarization. This net neuroinhibitory result induces a feeling of hypnosis, insensible, causes relaxation of muscles, and induces anxiolytic action.
The dose strength of Librium for complete prevention of anxiety disorder in adult patients is about 5 to 10 mg (mild to moderate anxiety), three or four times daily by an oral route. You may take it with or without food.
For cases of severe anxiety, you must ingest 20 to 25 mg, three or four times daily by an oral route. You can take it with or without meals.
Missed dose: If you skip any dose then use it as soon as you remember. If the time has passed then follow next dosing schedule. Do not use two doses at a time.
Some after effects with Librium areas clumsiness, lack of coordination, headache, weakness, light-headedness, confusion, yellowing of skin or eyes, giddiness, excessive daytime sleepiness state, and allergies.
Some drugs that possibly interact with Librium are Azole antifungals, Clozapine, Hydantoins, Rifampin, and Sodium oxybate.
